Pitbulls are known to be aggressive and dangerous, this may well be the case… if you treat them the wrong way.
The same goes for most dog breeds, it all comes down to how well the owner raises their pet to ensure they feel safe.
No dog is born aggressive, it all depends on the way they are brought up by their owner.
Maybe not everyone agrees about pitbulls, but I’m sure everyone agrees that this pitbull is a true hero.
Five-year-old Remayah Hernandez was riding her bicycle with her sister when she suddenly encountered Tank, the neighbor’s Labrador.
Being the dog lover she is, the girl didn’t hesitate to get his attention. She just wanted to pet him. Instead, it ended in blood and tears.
The dog immediately attacked the girl by biting her in the face.
Tank vs. Trigger
Clearly terrified, Remayah began screaming for help. Her screams not only got her mother’s attention, but also their own dog – Trigger the pitbull. He was in the backyard and suddenly ignored everything he had been taught as a puppy.
This meant he left the backyard and jumped over the fence to attack another dog. When he heard his 5-year-old owner screaming, Trigger ran to rescue her and pounced on Tank who ended up injured.
A pitbull attacking another dog usually evokes emotions – given the breed’s reputation, it usually has sad consequences.
But in this case, Trigger did exactly the right thing.
The animal protection of the police department took Tank away and had to eventually put him down. The little girl was taken to the hospital by ambulance where she was treated for her injuries.

Disney World
The family, who had saved money for a trip to Disney World, had to use it instead to cover the costs of the plastic surgery their daughter needed after being attacked by Tank.
An online campaign was set up where people could send money to the family. The goal was to ensure that Remayah could still go to Disney World – and it worked! Eventually, $1000 was raised to fulfill this little girl’s wish.
The attack obviously left the girl terrified, but above all, she was grateful for what her hero had done for her. Or as she now likes to call him – “superhero.” In her time of need, Trigger truly was there for her.

Swift Recovery
The neighbor was at work that day, and it is still unclear how the Labrador managed to escape and roam freely in the neighborhood. When told about what happened, the neighbor was shocked and immediately thought there was probably a missing part of the story.
He really felt his dog was innocent, but was relieved to hear that the neighbor girl was okay under the circumstances.
Everyone was grateful that Remayah recovered quickly after that terrible incident.
