No one wanted Toby the cat with the ‘strange face’ – now he’s finally been adopted!

Toby the cat, although six years old, appears much older due to being born with the rare Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), causing fragile fur and a swollen head.

Georginia Price shared with Love Meow that “the body doesn’t produce enough collagen, resulting in poor fur healing and increased susceptibility to sores.”

Despite his condition, Georginia decided to adopt Toby, providing him with love for the first time in his life!

Georgina’s love for Toby, the cat rejected by many due to his rare condition, led her to persuade her husband, Christopher, to welcome Toby into their home alongside their other cat, Quinton.

After completing all necessary paperwork, Georgina officially became Toby’s owner, stating, “Upon adoption, Toby, weighing 5.7 kg despite his small size due to excess fur, is a happy, healthy cat who receives immense love.”

Not only did Toby adore his new family, but he also quickly bonded with his new best friend, Quinton, “who acts like a big brother, caring for him,” according to Georgina.

Georgina adds, “They eagerly await our return by the window, rushing to greet us at the door, displaying their playful and affectionate nature. Toby and Quinton bring us immense joy.”

Given Toby’s special needs, he requires specific care to maintain his health. Georgina mentions, “We ensure proper maintenance by trimming his claws and maintaining a clean living environment. We consider ourselves fortunate that his condition appears to be manageable.”

Expressing her deep affection for Toby, Georgina emphasizes, “We are incredibly grateful to have Toby and Quinton as part of our family.”

What a magnificent cat! It’s heartwarming to see him finally embraced in a loving and caring home.
