Having a dog at home comes with significant responsibilities. They require not only food and hygiene but also regular outdoor activity.
However, the owner of this dog believed that the dog was poorly behaved. Instead of training the dog, they heartlessly abandoned him with a note tied around his neck.
Discovered at a fence in Kent, a 10-year-old black labrador had a note around his neck stating, “I never learned to be good.”
The note further read, “Hello, can someone take me in? My owner abandoned me after 10 years because I never learned to behave. So, here I am, where he left me.”
The note concluded with a message, “Thank you for looking after me. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
This heartless act saw the faithful dog discarded like garbage after a decade of loyalty. The poor dog was left bewildered and distressed.
Animal welfare organizations are using social media to appeal for information to locate the owner, as the dog was not microchipped.
“This elderly black labrador was tied to a fence,” as reported on Facebook.
“We are eager to speak with the owner to understand why they abandoned the dog. If someone is struggling with their dog, this is definitely not the appropriate way to address it.”
“Unacceptable Behavior”
“Finding a new home for the dog is an option, but abandonment is never the solution. We urge anyone with information about the owner to come forward so we can engage in dialogue,” said a representative.
Subsequently, reports indicated that the owner had been identified, and several individuals had expressed interest in adopting the dog.
We hope this kind-hearted dog can enjoy a long, loving life with a caring owner. No dog should ever be abandoned, especially not an elderly dog that has known only one home.
