Parents entrust their children to daycare centers with the expectation of safety and care.
However, a disturbing incident uncovered at Cedar Early Learning Center in Cleveland, Ohio, revealed a stark violation of that trust by two caregivers.
In the fall of 2015, center director Octavia Manuel was shocked to discover horrifying surveillance footage captured within the facility.

The footage depicted an employee repeatedly hitting a two-year-old child with a plastic back scratcher, followed by slamming the child to the ground and continuing the assault.
Moreover, the same caregiver dragged the baby across the room and threw him against a table while another staff member stood by idly.
The mother, devastated by the betrayal of trust, expressed her disbelief and distress, stating, “he didn’t deserve this at all,” to Fox8.

Subsequently, another distressing incident captured on the security cameras showed a caregiver striking a young girl with a plastic bat.
Upon viewing the footage the following day, Director Manuel promptly terminated the employment of the two individuals involved.
Grateful for the surveillance system’s role in exposing the atrocities, Manuel emphasized the importance of such measures, telling Fox8.

Following the disturbing incident, the perpetrators were arrested and convicted of child abuse.
This harrowing event underscores the critical need for vigilance in ensuring the safety of children in all environments.
