Having a loyal and supportive dog as a pet is truly special. In a heartwarming incident, one dog showcased its bravery by assisting its owner in freeing a stranger’s car stuck in a flood, all captured in a video.
Lori Gillies, residing in Glasgow, Scotland, owns a Springer Spaniel named Puck. The duo turned into local heroes when they came to the rescue of two women trapped in floodwater.
“Puck and I were on our daily walk and there was a car stuck in the water,” Lori recounted to the Daily Record. “There were two women inside, and I went down to give them a hand.”
Severe weather conditions in Scotland, including heavy rains and thunderstorms, have led to flooding and various challenges.
“We have never had such heavy flooding,” Lori mentioned.
Lori and Puck stepped in to aid the women by pushing their car. Unbeknownst to them, a bystander recorded the entire event on video, capturing the extraordinary moment when Puck also joined in to help push the car!
“The dog is pushing the car now. Brilliant,” exclaimed Davie Keel, the local resident who filmed the event. “Look at that. The little dog is giving the car a push. Amazing.”
Despite being 10 years old, Puck displayed enthusiasm and vitality. With the driver’s cooperation, Lori and Puck successfully moved the car to dry land after releasing the handbrake.
“Once the handbrake was off, it was just a quick push, and the car started rolling again,” Lori shared with Daily Record.
After learning about the video of their good deed, Lori posted it on her Facebook, expressing, “Just doing a good deed by helping this car and its owners to drier land. Puck really is the best dog in the whole world.”

The video quickly gained viral attention, with people worldwide commending Puck for his heroic act.
Although pushing the car was undoubtedly strenuous, Puck’s kindness did not go unnoticed by Lori:
“Puck got a very nice extra-large dinner last night,” Lori told the Daily Record. “He got meat with gravy and biscuits with extra meat.”
