The lion amazed animal lovers with its remarkable mane, earning the title of a prince.
Moya, a six-year-old white lion, was sighted in the Glen Garriff nature park in South Africa.
This majestic beast is not just beautiful but exceptionally rare. White lions are incredibly scarce, with only 35,000 wild lions remaining in the world today.
Unfortunately, many hunters prize them as trophies, and some South African ranches breed them for hunting purposes.
We are thrilled to announce the adoption of King Moya to a very special lady & lion angel Sherry Bennett HowertonSherry has supported us for for a long time, visited twice all the way from the States with her lovely husband Terry, been in our human cage and now is the official Lion Guardian of the exquisite white lion Moya ????We thank you all who support us for your unwavering support during these difficult times. ???If you want to request to adopt a certain lion who hasn’t been listed yet please contact us. Thankfully, Moya is not held in captivity and will live out her days peacefully among 76 lions, cared for and protected by animal rescuers.
“Moya’s magnificent mane left me awestruck when I first saw her,” he told The Sun.
“Approaching him was challenging, but I had moments where he drew closer, enabling me to capture stunning photos.”
“At the time, one may not fully grasp its beauty, but later, I realized the incredible images we had taken.”
He was astonished by the overwhelming response to Moya’s photos after they went viral.
“I’m delighted to shed light on a very worthy cause—this organization caring for 77 lions,” he wrote in a post.
It’s disheartening that these magnificent creatures are hunted for mere trophies, with no valid reason beyond a price tag.
One day, we may lose the privilege of experiencing these animals if we fail to show them the respect they deserve. They do not belong to us!
Please share this to raise awareness and advocate for an end to this cruel hunting practice.
