Against all odds, a dog in Romania survived being hit by a vehicle.
The injured dog suffered a broken jaw and spine, requiring immediate attention at a veterinary hospital.
Onyx, the dog, underwent multiple surgeries after being rescued, with slim chances of pulling through.
Sally Keen noticed Onyx and sought help via social media to find him a new home.
“I didn’t think he would make it. He was completely shattered and immobile. I followed his progress on Instagram and saw his resilience,” shared a woman with Metro.
At 12 years old, Onyx was considered elderly for a dog. Renamed Boris, he spent three challenging months recovering from his injuries.
“Given his broken jaw and severe spinal damage, hindering his movement, his chances of survival were slim. Yet, he fought on,” Sally remarked.
Ultimately, Amicii Dog Rescue came to Onyx’s aid, sharing his story online in hopes of finding him a loving home.
Expressing her compassion for neglected dogs, Sally felt an immediate connection with Boris, covered in blood, and quickly decided to adopt him.
After extensive care, Boris made his way to his new home with Sally in England, two days away.
“Upon his arrival, Boris was underweight and timid, fearful of human contact,” she noted.
Thanks to Sally’s devotion and hard work, Boris underwent a remarkable transformation, becoming a rejuvenated dog.
“Each day, he grows more youthful!” she added.
Funds were raised to cover Boris’s treatment costs, including the loss of two teeth in the accident. With Sally’s loving care, Boris has made significant strides but still has a ways to go.
“Initially immobile, Boris can now walk again. Especially when treats are involved, he’s right there,” Sally remarked.
Boris has made an incredible journey, thanks to these animal rescuers. A bright and joyful future awaits him in his new loving home.
