Animal advocates are shocked by what they describe as one of the most severe cases of animal cruelty in decades. A dog was discovered whimpering in a trash bag, having been subjected to relentless abuse and cruelty, including severe physical injuries and humiliation.
Fortunately, the small puppy named Chloe was discovered just in time, although initially, there were doubts about her survival.
Chloe, a 9-month-old Maltipoo terrier, was the victim of this heinous act of violence.
“She had suffered a fractured skull and ribs,” shared employee Diana Kliche in a statement to CBS2.
“They believed her neck was also broken, and one of her paws was fractured in two places,” she added.
The dog had been viciously assaulted to the point of near-fatality before being callously discarded in a garbage bag, left to die.
The rescuers, deeply disturbed by the condition in which they found Chloe, described her as a fighter battling for her life in veterinary care.
“Someone capable of inflicting such cruelty on animals is a danger to society as a whole,” cautioned Diane.
Chloe also had a fractured leg, which was determined to be an older injury.
As efforts were made to save Chloe, a reward of $12,000 was raised for any information leading to the arrest of the perpetrator behind this horrendous act.
Thankfully, this brave little survivor pulled through the horrific ordeal, with no lasting effects from her head injuries.
She has since found a loving forever home where she receives the affection and care she so rightfully deserves.
This puppy’s timely rescue was truly a miracle, underscoring the importance of compassion towards all living beings.
