Trusting a dog has always been and will always be a difficult task. Some dog owners are convinced that their dog would never harm a fly. Until the dog is harassed…
Many people think that dogs are completely harmless, but that is not always true.
The pitbull is a breed known for its aggressive, strong, and tenacious character.
Unfortunately, this is also a reason why they are used in fights against other dogs. People pay huge sums of money to profit from these fights.
But anyone with a lot of experience with dogs, especially pitbulls, knows that pitbulls are anything but aggressive. Many people believe that it all has to do with how the dog is raised. By nature, they are not dangerous at all.
Pitbull Betsy didn’t have an easy start in life when she was bought by her owner for fighting.
The pitbull that didn’t want to fight
However, it didn’t take long for the owner to realize that Betsy wasn’t a good fighting dog; she wasn’t aggressive enough.

Betsy didn’t attack anyone or anything, much to the frustration of her owners. So, she had to be demoted to a “bait dog.” The role of a “bait dog” is to lure the aggressive, hungry dogs that want to attack her and use her as a target.
Betsy was severely injured by the other aggressive dogs. When she was rescued, she had large and serious injuries and infections.
Life-threatening wounds
Several veterinarians were not sure if Betsy would survive the severe bite wounds all over her body. But luckily, she did.
After a few weeks, when Betsy’s condition had improved, they could start looking for a suitable home for her.
An American family with several children contacted them and wanted to give the dog a second chance at life.
The youngest son of the family quickly became friends with Betsy. He wanted to be her best friend and take care of her.
All love returned
He saw no reason to be afraid of her, even though her previous experiences likely traumatized her.
One day, when the little boy wanted to hug Betsy, his mother held her breath, afraid of an aggressive reaction. But it didn’t happen; Betsy responded with love only.
Today, Betsy is just like any other dog. She loves “fishing” and cuddling with her family.
