The mother suspected something was wrong as she walked through the door. When she looked at her baby’s feet, she saw that the soles were covered in blisters.
When she asked Mendoza what had happened, the babysitter claimed she had no idea what she was talking about.
Mother Calls Police
However, the mother suspected she was lying, so she called the police to report child abuse.
She immediately took her daughter to the hospital, where the true extent of her injuries became clear. She had severe burns on her feet, as if they had been submerged in boiling water.
After the 36-year-old abusive babysitter was arrested, it was revealed that she got angry when the baby wouldn’t stop crying while she was cooking.
Mendoza then forcibly submerged the baby’s feet in the cooking pot as a punishment, according to the Washington Post.
For some mothers, it will take a long time before they trust their baby with a babysitter again.
