There are billions of people on this earth, but not all of them write history during their lives.
Many will strive to make the headlines and succeed, if only for a short time.
But in the case of sisters Tammy and Amy Slaton, they have amazed the world with how far they have come.
When they appeared on “1000 lb sisters” on TLC, which was also shown in the Netherlands, the whole world was astonished by their life situation.
Together, the sisters weighed almost 500 kilos, half a ton just by themselves.
Now people are amazed at their transformation and how far they have come together.
There is almost nothing a person cannot handle.
It may seem impossible when facing a tough challenge in life, but with a will of steel and great determination, there is nothing that can stand in your way.

As long as you have the right motivation, you can climb mountains, jump off cliffs, or embark on a great adventure.
And two people who truly inspire me and many others are the sisters Tammy and Amy Slaton.

We got to know these women back in 2020 when they appeared on the show “1000 lb sisters” on the TLC channel.
In the program, which was also aired in the Netherlands, we followed the sisters’ struggle for a healthier and easier life.
When the TV hit started, they together weighed almost half a ton!
The scale showed a staggering 453 kilograms when they both stepped on it, and doctors were stunned at how they could even survive.
With the enormous overweight, both their lives were seriously in danger, and if they wanted any chance at a life, they had to take action, and fast.
That’s when they signed up for the TLC program to address their issues.
And it turned out to be the best decision they could have made.
The Battle Against Weight
While Amy underwent the operation, Tammy still struggled with her weight and did not meet the doctors’ requirements to undergo surgery, as reported by the British Express.
It became increasingly difficult to see how the sister continued her journey, while Tammy felt that everything had more or less come to a standstill.
It got to the point where the family sent her to a care center where they could monitor her 24 hours a day and help Tammy get back on the right track in life.
When Tammy arrived at the center, the scale showed 325 kilos.
“I hate stepping on a scale. My biggest fear is gaining weight,” she told the program.
“I don’t want to disappoint myself and my family.”
Turnaround After the Hard Struggle
The scale showed 242 kilos and Tammy had proven to everyone, especially herself, that she could do this.
She had lost 83 kilos.
So Tammy was sent home, to her sister’s, where her weight loss journey continued.
Now it’s been three years since they started filming the sisters up close in the TLC program and a lot has happened.
Some time ago, Tammy was finally able to leave their home alone – for the first time in six years.
In the past, she always needed help from health workers, but now she can come and go as she pleases.
She has come so far in her weight loss that Tammy recently shared the incredible news that she, too, will undergo surgery.
It is the newspaper Mirror that reports how in one episode she emotionally tells her mother that her big dream has finally come true after three years.
And a very proud sister Amy is there when the news is announced.
“We said you were strong enough to handle it,” she says in the program according to the site.
“After her previous failures, I really didn’t think she could do it. But she proved me wrong,” Amy says in the program according to the site.
Today, her sister Amy weighs 124 kilos and has lost 60 kilos since her gastric bypass.
And she has no intention of stopping.
They still have a long way to go to reach their final goals, but they have shown that they can do it.
Together, they have lost 143 kilos of their almost 500 kilos.
Now, they and their sister are more determined than ever that the journey is far from over.
It has only just begun.
