Savvy Weight Loss Hacks: My Journey of Losing 50 Kilos!

When I was 18, I used to avoid mirrors, learned to look away because I didn’t want to see the truth – I weighed 125 kilos.
But one day, I got into my car and I couldn’t help but see my reflection. I didn’t recognize the man looking back.
I sat in the car and cried. Then I went home to my mother and for the first time, I told her that I couldn’t take it anymore and that I needed to do something about my weight. It was the beginning of a long journey that eventually led me to lose almost 50 kilos.
Over time, I learned things I wish I had known earlier. These are the things no one told me about weight loss.
Being obese affected my daily life. It made looking in the mirror and shopping for clothes a nightmare. There was also a constant feeling of not being like everyone else.

Brand new habits
After deciding that I wanted to lose weight, the first thing I did was look at the foods I was eating and which ones were healthy…

Flour is sugar
This led me to discover that there was another food that wasn’t helping, and that was flour…
Something that really worked
I learned that when you severely restrict your carbohydrate intake…

Am I carb intolerant?
After every period of weight loss, I tried to go back to my “normal” eating habits consuming “normal” portions…
“Today I exercise regularly, and it’s so much more fun than it was in the beginning.”
My whole body began to heal itself. My skin got better, my stomach got better, I started sleeping better, and I was so much happier. Medications I had taken for different conditions before, I no longer needed to use.
Now that I understand how important it is to be healthy, I am always conscious of what I put in my body.
My journey was sometimes tough, but I had to make the mistakes I needed to make to get where I am now.
The most important lesson
The most important thing I learned is the value of recognizing failure. Because when you do, you open new paths.
I once heard a quote: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.”
