Ever felt like there’s a presence looking out for us from above? Whether it’s an old friend or a family member, some believe there are guardian angels guiding us through life’s challenges, especially in our most vulnerable moments.
For the Parker family, this belief became a reality when father Stephen narrowly escaped a tragic car accident.
It all unfolded while Stephen Parker and his sons, Mason and J.T., were working on their car in the backyard. Both Stephen and Mason, age 17, needed to lift the car for repairs.
After an unfortunate fall, Mason tended to his injuries inside, leaving Stephen and 8-year-old Jack outside.
Trapped Under the Car
As Mason was indoors, the unthinkable occurred. The car collapsed on Stephen, pinning him down and cutting off his breathing.
“I was completely stuck, unable to move,” Stephen recounted to Inside Edition.
On the other side of the car, J.T. couldn’t see his father. With time running out, Stephen knew his only hope was for someone to raise the car with the jack.
Struggling for Breath
Initially hesitant to call for J.T., Stephen relented as he felt consciousness slipping away. In a desperate plea, he summoned his 8-year-old son.
J.T. grasped the severity of the situation and sprang into action. Stephen’s memory fades at this point.
“I was fading. All I felt was a serene calmness,” he revealed.
Life-Saving Effort
With time of the essence, J.T. summoned all his strength to lift the car and free his father. Despite his petite frame, weighing just 45 kilos, he miraculously managed to lift the car within minutes, saving Stephen’s life.
“I was scared, unsure if I could do it. I just kept trying,” J.T. later shared with Inside Edition.
“This experience reaffirms that we’re not alone. There are higher powers watching over us,” Stephen reflected.
