Steve Irwin’s Granddaughter Meets a Koala for the First Time!

When Steve Irwin passed away in 2006, the world lost an icon. Irwin was the famous Crocodile Hunter, an Australian wildlife conservationist. He died at the age of 44. And even though he is no longer here, his family continues his work.

Steve’s wife Terri and their children Bindi and Robert continue to play a major role in protecting the Australian wildlife. Last year, they rescued tens of thousands of animals from bushfires.

And there is more good news within the Irwin family. In March, they celebrated the birth of their first child, a girl named Grace Warrior Irwin Powell.

The newborn is the first grandchild of the legendary Steve Irwin. Even at two months old, baby Grace is already following in her family’s footsteps.

Last month, baby Grace had her first interaction with an animal at the Australian zoo. Her grandmother Terri showed her some chickens.

She has now met another iconic animal from Irwin’s legacy.

Chandler shared a photo of Grace meeting a koala for the first time. In the heartwarming picture, we see the two-month-old baby and the koala curiously eyeing each other.

β€œWe’ve laughed, lovingly bonded, and met a koala!”

β€œOur little wildlife warriors!” wrote Bindi.

This moment is particularly special as the Irwin family is renowned for their animal care in Australia, and the koala is one of the country’s most beloved animals.

Koalas have faced significant challenges with their population declining due to wildfires. The Australia Zoo helps rescue about 800 koalas annually.

The koala was also one of Steve’s favorite animals. One of his most popular photos is of him holding a koala.

It seems that Grace has found a new favorite animal after her first encounter with a koala.

β€œAt two months, our beautiful daughter Grace Warrior is ecstatic!” Bindi wrote. β€œShe is the happiest little human.”

At two months old, Bindi’s daughter is already showing a resemblance to her dad, Steve! No doubt, many more animal encounters await her.
