Gillian Rogers, the dedicated founder of Pet Rescue Squad Inc, has a profound love for animals. Last week, she experienced a moment that filled her with optimism.
While on her way home on the subway, she noticed a man across from her with something special on his lap.
To her amazement, it was a tiny kitten wrapped in a towel. Even more heartwarming was the fact that the man was delicately bottle-feeding the kitten.
Describing the scene to The Dodo, Gillian expressed, “You could see the care. My heart could have exploded seeing someone so caring. He was completely in the moment.”
“The kitten looked up at him as he fed her. It was so heartwarming,” she added.
Intrigued to learn more, Gillian approached the man to inquire about the kitten, and he shared his inspiring tale.
He recounted finding the cat in the city nestled between two buildings and making the compassionate decision to nurture her, provide nourishment, and ensure she stayed warm.
“It was so heartwarming,” shared Gillian. “I said to him, ‘Thank you.’”
Gillian shared the photo on Facebook, where it garnered over 13,000 shares and received more than a thousand comments.
She was overjoyed to see that this touching moment resonated with others as deeply as it did with her.
“I had no idea the photo would evoke so much. It makes me happy,” she told The Dodo. “I think we could all use something to brighten our day.”
It definitely brought a ray of sunshine into our lives! It’s reassuring to know that there are kind souls willing to rescue a kitten and shower it with love and care.
