The life of a stray dog is tough, especially on a freezing cold night.
For animal lovers, encountering a stray dog on a cold winter evening can be heart-wrenching.
On one chilly evening in Ontario, Canada, a kind-hearted Samaritan noticed a beautiful dog on the roadside.
The dog was huddled up, and upon closer inspection, the woman realized the dog wasn’t alone.
The sweet dog was protecting a litter of orphaned kittens with its warm fur.
The woman took the dog and brought the kittens to an animal shelter, where staff witnessed the strong bond between the dog and the kittens.
It was evident that the dog had saved the lives of the kittens.
“Making It Worthwhile”
“It’s truly heartwarming!” the shelter told The Dodo. “It was a freezing night, so thanks to the dog, the kittens may have a chance at life. Otherwise, they would not have survived.”
All animals were checked and cared for. The kittens required extra attention, and their temporary mother, the incredibly kind dog, watched over them diligently.
“Our staff encounter many challenging situations daily, and stories like these truly make our job worthwhile,” the shelter wrote.
