Sudden Tragedy: 16-Year-Old Girl Dies Unexpectedly – Doctor Makes Disturbing Discovery in Her Stomach Hours Later

When teenager Jasmine Beever suddenly collapsed unconscious, she was rushed to the emergency room.
She was successfully resuscitated at the hospital but still passed away shortly after. Very tragic. The doctors had the difficult task of determining the cause of death.
It wasn’t until they examined her abdomen that they found something was wrong.
It was a normal school day for the 16-year-old from the village of Skegness in England. But suddenly she started to feel unwell and decided to go home. It was there that she collapsed and was taken to the hospital.

Tragic news
At the hospital, the family received the tragic news of Jasmine’s death. Doctors tried to explain the unusual cause to them.
Jasmine suffered from peritonitis, or inflammation of the peritoneum. This occurs when a layer of tissue in the abdomen becomes inflamed, often due to an infection.
The doctors found something in her stomach that explained why she had died. And this came as a real shock to everyone.

Unusual diagnosis
In Jasmine’s stomach, the doctors found a large hairball. It was infected and the body could not digest it. As a result, an ulcer had developed which eventually burst, causing vital organ failure.
Trichotillomania, a mental disorder where individuals compulsively eat hair, is an impulse control disorder that can be caused by stress. People pull out their own hair and then eat it, the NHS, the national health organization in England, explains.
This seemingly harmless habit can cause hairballs in the stomach that can accumulate in the digestive system, often referred to as the “Rapunzel Syndrome,” according to The Independent.
