Children are the most beautiful gift in the world, and they must always be protected and loved.
As parents, we know what is best for our children. That’s why it can be quite difficult to find the right babysitter, for example.
We fear that they may not take good care of our little ones. We naturally want to leave our children in the hands of a professional caregiver.
But unfortunately, that’s not always the case.
Desiree LeBlanc works at the Child Welfare Service. When she had a daughter of her own and had to go back to work after a few weeks of maternity leave, she was careful about finding the right babysitter.
She got some recommendations from a friend and eventually found someone she trusted to take care of her baby when she couldn’t. It was 28-year-old Christina Williamson, the owner of a daycare center.
The babysitter seemed very reliable and competent at first. Everything went well initially. But soon the whole story took a different turn.
Christina’s husband decided to install surveillance cameras to film her. He did this after hearing another 8-year-old child complain about the babysitter, his wife, which had made him concerned.
When he later watched the camera footage, he was shocked by what he saw. He immediately called the police.
The footage showed Christina being aggressive with the children, shouting at them, and pushing their faces into the carpet when they cried. She put clothes in their mouths to make them stop crying, as reported by KCCI News.
It also showed her leaving a five-month-old baby alone multiple times.
The babysitter was later sentenced to a 5-year prison term. Fortunately, none of the children showed any lasting effects from the abuse they suffered. That was reported by KCCI Des Moines 8.
