Passed Away from Pneumonia

Young Rosalia Lombardo, born in Palermo in 1918, tragically lost her life at the tender age of two on December 6, 1920, succumbing to pneumonia.

Stricken by grief from her demise, her father, Mario Lombardo, entrusted her remains to the renowned Sicilian taxidermist Alfredo Salafia.

The body underwent embalming and was positioned in a glass case at the Capuchin monastery in Palermo.
