Dogs that are rescued from a dire, desperate situation and placed in a shelter always bring positive news. But what about the abandoned dogs?
Often, they are considered the least “appealing” – less friendly, older dogs. Unfortunately, many of these beloved four-legged companions face euthanasia to end their suffering.
It’s truly heartbreaking.
However, when a young boy entered a local animal shelter and decided to adopt the oldest dog there, his compassionate gesture was admired by all. What a wonderful little animal hero he is!
Tristan and his mother visited an animal shelter in Iowa, USA, and saw all the dogs yearning for a loving home.
The shelter even had a “cuddle room” where visitors could bond with a dog and give them some affection.
Out of all the dogs, Tristan picked the oldest one – a 14-year-old deaf and blind dog named Shey. He only had one tooth left,” mentioned a shelter employee in a Facebook post.
It seemed like a perfect match between the two.
Tristan and his mother brought Shey to the cuddle room, and Shey immediately curled up in Tristan’s lap. The dog felt secure right away. The joy on their faces says it all.
“We adore older dogs,” mentioned Tristan’s mother. “It feels good to know that you’re doing something special for him that others might not.,” the post continued.
“Shey now has a new home… with a new best friend and plenty of cuddle time ahead. Congratulations to Shey and his new family!” the animal shelter concluded.
