The night was a success for Wicked, from the incredible performances by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande to the awards they received. However, among the Wicked cast, one prominent name was missing. Jeff Goldblum revealed on the red carpet the reason Jonathan Bailey couldn’t attend the evening.
During an interview with Live From E!: The Oscars, Goldblum explained Bailey’s absence: ‘He is currently on stage in England, playing Richard II. He is an eighth-degree black belt actor,’ Goldblum shared. He also praised Bailey’s acting skills, saying, ‘He is fantastic in our movie, such a talented actor.’
In addition, Jonathan Bailey’s upcoming film project [Jurassic World Rebirth] was mentioned, with Jeff Goldblum mentioning, ‘He’s going to be in that dinosaur movie. I’ll be first in line for tickets. I plan to watch it multiple times. Also, Scarlett Johansson is part of the star-studded cast.’
