The Rhino Poacher’s End: Trampled by Elephant, Eaten by Lions

Mother nature has its way of balancing the scales.

The New York Times reports that in South Africa, a poacher who hunted a rhinoceros met a grim end, being trampled by an elephant and then consumed by a group of lions.

This poacher, along with three partners in crime, had illegally killed the rhinoceros. However, their actions led to severe repercussions.

Sources mention that the deceased poacher’s family received a call from his fellow poachers, but a search mission by the authorities was unsuccessful in locating them.

Only a skull and a pair of pants were recovered, with no further traces of the poacher.

A statement from the South African Police Service confirmed the discovery of the decapitated head of the poacher, alongside some clothing items.

“A human skull was found in Kruger National Park and is believed to belong to the individual responsible for killing the rhinoceros along with his associates.”

“Authorities were informed that a group was involved in poaching in Kruger National Park when they were unexpectedly attacked by an elephant, resulting in one casualty.”

The accomplices were eventually caught and were reported to be aged between 26 and 35, with the recovery of several hunting rifles and ammunition.

Days after the incident, park rangers eventually located the poacher’s body. Sadly, it had been fully devoured by a group of lions.

The loss of human life is always tragic, but one must be prepared for the consequences when venturing into the wilderness. Those who harm animals in their natural habitat must face the outcomes!
