Imagine believing in one thing your whole life… only to discover something that flips your whole world upside down.
That’s exactly what happened to 31-year-old Silvina Martinez Pintos. And since realizing her life was a lie, she asked for help on Facebook.
Silvina Martinez Pintos was at home in Mar del Plata, Argentina, in front of her computer.
The 31-year-old was looking at old family photos on Facebook – when she noticed a detail that changed everything.
She noticed her mother wasn’t pregnant in the photos.
The strange part? Silvina was born just a few weeks after the photo was taken.
Silvina had her suspicions, but the revelation came as a shock. She realized without any doubt that she was actually adopted – and decided to confront her parents.
“It was very difficult to uncover the truth, because I always suspected this and they confirmed it to me but without giving me more details,” wrote Silvina Martinez Pintos on Facebook.
All Silvina was told was that she was born at 11:30, that her biological mother was 16 years old at the time, and that the doctor who brought her into the world was named Ricardo Carminatti. In a post on Facebook, shared thousands of times, Silvina asked for help in uncovering the truth.
“My foster mother knows nothing else (or does not want to tell me more), my adoptive father has passed away and I want to know what happened: whether they abandoned me, whether they sold me,” wrote Silvina Martinez Pintos on Facebook.
At the same time, Silvina says she does not judge her biological parents. She just wants to know more about the woman who bore her, whether she has siblings, and why she was put up for adoption.
“I need to know in order to move on with my life and this story that has to do with my identity,” wrote Silvina Martinez Pintos on Facebook.
