Tiny Creature, Big Heart: How Farmers Save a Little Being the Size of a Cola Can

Wally, the little lamb, was as small as a soda can.

This is how he looks today.

On the farm, you can meet many beautiful and different kinds of animals. It is a place full of life and love where our four-legged friends graze amidst the greenery.

For Ben and Sarah Pohlner, who run a commercial farm in Australia, those four-legged friends are primarily sheep.

They are there to keep weeds away from the crops that the couple grows. It is a way to avoid the use of pesticides, but they also receive a lot of love from the sheep on the farm.

Last year, a sheep was added to the farm. The couple was very surprised when they found that the lamb did not grow much.

Here is the photo Sarah took of the lamb, barely larger than a soda can!

Sarah tells us that the lamb’s sibling was fully grown, but this lamb was much smaller.

“I thought at first it was just some afterbirth on the ground, but when it started moving, I wasn’t quite sure what was going on,” Pohlner told The Dodo.

They named him Wally, and Sarah says she has never seen such a small lamb before.

The couple was concerned whether the lamb would survive or not and gave him plenty of food, warmth, and love. Eventually, he started growing, much to their delight.

Although the family found that Wally has very poor eyesight, it is clear that he is full of love and joy. Since last autumn, he has made several visits to eye specialists and veterinarians to see if anything can be done.

Wally has received a lot of attention on TV, and here we see him with a flower – adorable!

We wish this little hero all the best in his daily life in the garden!
