When a poor dog was found all alone in a park, it was clear that someone had abandoned him.
Fortunately, there are heroes who work every day to help animals in need.
It all started in November 2023 when they found a large pitbull-mix, all alone in a park. He was tied to a bench and couldn’t get away.
The poor dog waited patiently, hoping that a kind soul would come to rescue him.
Fortunately, the Austin Humane Society arrived to help the poor animal, reports The Dodo.
The poor animal was incredibly dirty and had serious infections in both his eyes and skin.
They write on their Facebook page that he “desperately needed medicated baths, eye drops, and ointment.”
Dogs that have been neglected, abandoned, lived on the streets, or are not feeling well can sometimes have trouble trusting people.
It’s important to act carefully so the dog doesn’t become scared, assertive, or aggressive when approaching you.
But in the case of this dog, named Gordough, it was the exact opposite.
‘He Immediately Became the Staff’s Favorite’
He was incredibly happy, wagging his tail and showing his gratitude immediately when the center’s staff came to help him.
According to The Dodo, he immediately laid his head in their lap when they untied the leash that was keeping him attached to the bench.
A thank you that would likely touch anyone.
It quickly became clear that he was a special and extremely friendly dog. But once they arrived at the center, they realized there was something completely unique about him.
Despite his terrible infections, which likely caused discomfort, Gordough was always cooperative and at his best.
Adopted by a Loving Family
He remained calm and peaceful while veterinarians cared for him and always had a loving attitude.
“Gordough looks a bit like one of those lying, happy Buddha statues that has come to life,” they write on Facebook.
He was allowed to go to a loving family who loves him just as much as he loves them.
He has fully recovered, and the infections he had contracted have healed.
According to The Dodo, the dog prefers to spend his days cuddling with his new owners on the couch or playing with his favorite toys.
He has finally gotten the life he deserves.
