Kaswan’s video quickly gained attention on social media, leading to an outpour of sympathy and intrigue from people worldwide.
In the video shared on Twitter, an elephant is seen emerging from the bushes carrying a deceased calf, likely its own.
The adult elephant gently places the body on the ground near the road and waits for other elephants to join.
Soon after, more elephants arrive and gather around the lifeless calf.
Mourning for the deceased calf
Subsequently, the initial elephant, likely the mother, picks up the calf once more, and the entire herd moves forward together, reminiscent of a procession heading to a funeral to mourn.
This behavior of elephants grieving for their deceased kin parallels our human emotional responses.
