Tragic: Pregnant Elephant Lured into Trap, Killed by Explosive Pineapple

It’s truly heartbreaking to see animals mistreated, especially when they are already vulnerable to humans. The recent incident involving a pregnant elephant in the Silent Valley National Park, India, is a stark example of this cruelty.

The pregnant elephant was peacefully foraging for food in the Palakkad region when a tragic event unfolded.

Approaching a pineapple she smelled, the elephant took a bite, unknowingly triggering an explosive device concealed inside. This malicious act was reported by Metro.

The explosion caused severe injuries, destroying the elephant’s tongue and mouth. Distressed and in excruciating pain, the elephant tried to cool its wounds in nearby water, showing remarkable resilience.

Heartbreakingly, despite her efforts, the pregnant elephant succumbed to her injuries, resulting in the loss of her unborn calf.

Outrage and Demands for Justice

Social media erupted with outrage over the incident, with many calling for the perpetrators to be held accountable for their heinous actions.

An official in the region, Sunil Kumar, condemned the attack, emphasizing the need for strict penalties, including possible imprisonment, for those who harm animals intentionally. Unfortunately, such cases are not uncommon in the area.
