Tragic Update: Entire Family Killed in Head-On Collision – Sending Our Thoughts

Eight lives were tragically lost in a fatal head-on collision involving four brothers in Scooba, Mississippi, last Monday. The collision occurred between a truck and a minibus.

James Moore from the police department shared with the Associated Press that all the victims, who were family members, worked for an agriculture company.

“Our rescue team, with decades of experience, expressed that they had never encountered such a devastating scene,” Moore stated. “There was nothing left of the minibus.”

A resident named Amy Lugo, living in the victims’ village, disclosed that one of the deceased, 48-year-old Francis Lugo, was her spouse.

She further revealed that three of Francis’s brothers, three nephews, and an uncle also lost their lives in the tragic accident.

Amy Lugo expressed her anguish, revealing a 20-year marriage to Francis and their upcoming son’s second birthday in August.

“I can’t fathom life without him. I don’t know how to move forward. He meant everything to me,” she shared according to reports.

“My heart breaks for their mother. She has lost all her sons in a single day.”

The driver of the other vehicle, Alejandro Resendiz, was examined at the accident site. Despite sustaining some head injuries and bleeding, his condition was fortunately not critical.

“I attempted to avoid the collision by driving alongside, but the minibus crashed into me,” he recounted through an interpreter, remarking on his survival as a “miracle.”

Our hearts and prayers are with all those affected and their families. Such tragedies remind us of the delicate nature of life.
