Unexpected Heroes: 5 Teens Come to the Rescue of Elderly Man and are Celebrated as Heroes

People have a lot of prejudices against teenagers, especially teenage boys. Teenagers are often seen as lazy, but they should not all be painted with the same brush.

These photos of some teenage boys from Idaho received a lot of media attention because the photos dispelled all stereotypes about young teenage boys.

Old man collapsed on the ground

An old man, Jose Gomez, was on his way home with his cane when he collapsed on the ground. He was alone and couldn’t get up. It seemed impossible for him to stand up.

Jose suddenly heard five young men approaching him out of nowhere. He didn’t know who they were or what they would do to him.

The young men were Victor Ornelas, Isaac Hernandez, Diego Ramirez, Devan Ornelas, and Josh Sorg. They were on their way to a nearby basketball court when they saw the old man fall.

β€œI collapsed, I don’t know what happened. They helped me up, and asked if I wanted a ride home. They stood up and said ‘Hey, do you want a ride home?’ and I said ‘Ok!’ They made me feel good,” Jose said according to HrtWarming.

Acts of heroism

When the boys helped the man to his feet, they saw that his knee was bleeding. They took him home and patched him up to make sure he was okay.

After the incident, an article appeared in the local media where they were hailed as real heroes.

Another beautiful example of how a few young boys proved the contrary was when a group of boys helped 89-year-old Rose Grist to her feet. The old woman had suffered from a sunstroke on her way to her car. That day, three broad-shouldered boys carried the woman to her car.

Shout out to these young boys for helping an elderly man off the ground after he fell and walking him home.If any of you have elderly family check on them make sure they are okay!

When some police officers saw what the boys were doing, they filmed it with their mobile phones. Then they contacted the boys to thank them personally. This way, such actions are encouraged.

β€œI just thought, β€˜she could be my grandma.’ 100 years is a beautiful life,” said one of the boys that day, to Daily Mail.
