Mindy Kaling recently discussed her close friend Meghan Markle. During a chat with TIME, the mind behind Sex Lives of College Girls (who recently earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame) shared that those who perceive Meghan as “difficult” or “chic” simply because she is a duchess have it all wrong.

It appears that Meghan is actually quite down-to-earth and easy-going. Mindy shared, “I think a misconception about Meghan is that she’s in any way snobbish or expects sophistication. She’s genuinely down-to-earth and full of handy tips for easier entertaining and cooking.”

Further, Mindy discussed her visit to Meghan’s show With Love, Meghan, recalling, “I was on maternity leave in March and April, and Meghan texted me about doing a cooking show for friends. She invited me to Montecito to cook for me. I needed that care during my maternity leave. It turned out to be a lovely outing, and I left with fresh produce, homemade jam, and hot sauce, as she knew I loved hot sauce. She’s a very giving person who understood my need for a break.”
‘Meghan just knows how to do it’
Mindy also commended Meghan’s hosting abilities, saying, “‘Meghan just knows how to do it. For kids’ parties, I usually just go to the party store for paper goods, and she doesn’t judge. It was enjoyable to learn how to host a DIY kid’s party in a simple manner.”
