A video captured inside an Uber vehicle has stirred controversy online, particularly among taxi drivers, due to its shocking nature.
The incident occurred in the car of driver Subhakar Khadka in San Francisco.
Subhakar picked up three passengers, two of whom were wearing face masks as required. However, the third passenger refused to wear a mask when requested by the driver.
On a sunny afternoon in San Francisco, when the man picked up the three passengers, one of them declined to wear a face mask despite being asked.
Coughing in Driver’s Face
Subhakar suggested stopping at a gas station for the passenger to purchase a mask, but she refused.
“What are you going to do?” exclaimed the passenger in the video, escalating to further aggression.
The passenger verbally abused the driver, instructing him to go to hell, while her companions laughed along.
Eventually, the passenger forcibly removed the driver’s mask to demonstrate her disregard for his request.

Following the video’s circulation on social media, various journalists contacted the affected driver for his account of the incident.
The driver revealed that the passenger became agitated because he insisted on her wearing a mask, as reported by The Guardian.
“She tried to shift the blame onto me despite booking an Uber without a mask,” stated Subhakar.
“The aggressive passenger began hurling insults at me and questioned why I stopped the car, even though we had barely driven for a minute.”
Driver Stands Up Against Misbehavior
The driver decided to share the video online to raise awareness and support other drivers facing similar challenges. He highlighted the mistreatment faced by drivers and essential workers during the pandemic, as mentioned in News Break.
“It’s not just us, taxi drivers, who encounter such behavior, but also individuals working at gas stations. People worldwide have shared similar encounters. However, lack of evidence often results in no action being taken, and individuals are left to cope with it,” expressed the affected driver.
“I hope this serves as a wakeup call. When such incidents occur in the future, prompt action should be taken, and justice served,” concluded the driver.
