A heartwarming video showing a man carrying his large dog in his arms while his young child walks beside him is capturing the hearts of amazed but adoring Internet users.
Luz Elena from Mexico captured a video of a father, with one arm reaching down to hold his young son’s hand and the other arm carrying a large gray pitbull, with the dog’s tongue hanging out and its head resting over the man’s shoulder.

Elena’s sweet and humorous TikTok video, titled “When your priority is your dog, not the child,” sparked conversations about priorities and shows the father, dog, and son crossing the street and continuing along the sidewalk.
Once the trio reaches the sidewalk, it appears they are joined by a woman who, following closely behind, is pushing the tricycle or bike of a child holding a large box.
A TikTok user suggested that the child had to walk because his transport was taken by his mother. “No one talked about the mother in the back with the tricycle. The child is walking because mom put something in the tricycle. Maybe the dog is sick?
Others mentioned that the sidewalk was too hot for the dog’s paws and the child’s feet are protected by his shoes: “The puppy’s paws are burning and the child has shoes on, so it’s better to carry the puppy.” While another writes, “This is actually super sweet. The sidewalk is probably way too hot for the dog’s paws, so he is carrying him.”
The majority of users praised the father for carrying the dog, providing evidence of the growing population of non-traditional families across species, often complemented today with the addition of a furry child.
“He shows a lot of empathy and responsibility for his pet and his son by holding his hand. A thousand blessings,” writes one person. Another, referring to this father’s love for both the child and the dog, adds, “Super dad. I would have done the same. The child has shoes on and the puppy doesn’t. It also looks warm. Plus, his mother was there, maybe he wanted to walk.”
Although Luz posted this cute video over a year ago, it still continues to receive a lot of attention and has been viewed approximately 4.7 million times.
