Warning: Woman’s Legs Amputated after Using Common Product – A Global Call to Action for Women

Lauren Wasser, a California model, faced a life-altering experience back in 2012.

It’s hard to fathom how a simple hygiene product could lead to such a drastic outcome, but for Lauren, it did. Her ordeal didn’t end there. Five years later, she had to undergo amputation of her other leg.

Determined to raise awareness and prevent any other woman from enduring a similar fate, Lauren emphasizes the dangers associated with this everyday product.

From flu symptoms to coma

In 2012, Lauren Wasser, a California model, visited the hospital with what she thought were flu symptoms. However, she was diagnosed with toxic shock syndrome (TSS) caused by bacterial toxins from a tampon.

The prolonged use of tampons, especially beyond recommended hours, can lead to TSS, a severe infection.

Due to TTS, Lauren fell into a coma for more than a week. After waking up, she had to undergo a leg amputation due to the infection, all at the young age of 24.

Since then, Lauren has made it her mission to ensure that others don’t go through the same ordeal.

No one else should have to experience this

“In a few months, my other leg will need to be amputated. It’s inevitable. But what I can do is prevent others from facing this,” Lauren shared with The Daily Mail.

Lauren has initiated legal action against Kotex Natural Balance, the tampon brand responsible for her severe reaction.

“Given that the vagina is the most absorbent part of a woman’s body and a gateway to many vital organs, it’s essential for consumers to understand the potential risks,” Lauren articulated in InStyle.

Tragically, Lauren had to undergo amputation of her other leg five years later.

After her procedure, she shared a photo on social media alongside Paralympic athlete Amy Purdy, who also underwent leg amputations, with a message expressing her readiness for the next phase despite the challenges.

“Life is about to change again! However, I am in good spirits and ready for my next chapter.

My admiration goes out to this courageous woman. Keep fighting with resilience and hope. Lauren continues her fight not only for herself but also for others, striving to spare them from her traumatic experience.

Spread Lauren’s story to raise awareness among all women about the potential risks of using tampons.
